in democracy, people and political parties have right to call for general strike to get their voices heard. What seems happened in Sankhu is not acceptable though. If the YCL has gone forcing and beating people, this is not acceptable. The UCPN (Maoists) leaders were clear about preventing violence in their demonstrations. Their vision should be honoured and practiced by their party cadres too. Otherwise, it will only strengthen the belief of the people that UCNP (Maoists) maintain double standards - that there is vast difference in what they do and what they say. I guess the party leaders in Sankhu will pay attention to this in their furute agitation programmes.
