First part:
Inauguration of the Mahotsav:
(this part is important for generating maximum participation of people of Sankhu as well as to get the commitment from the Government for promoting Vajrayogini temple complex and settlement of Sankhu getting recognized as world heritage sites)
09:00AM - 12:30PM
· Assembly in Nararayan Chowk of the traditional musical, dance, heritage display groups and round the city procession;
· Arrival of guests and the chief guest (government dignitaries; invitee representatives of UNESCO and other relevant national international agencies;
· Beginning of the inauguration programme;
· Expressions from representatives of Sankhu on seeking support and commitment from the government and relevant other national/ inter-national organizations for cultural heritage preservation, world heritage site recognition and tourism promotion in Sankhu;
· Expressions from Visiting dignitaries (government, national and inter-national organizations) on commitment on the above;
· Tea and refreshments;
· Conclusion of the inauguration programme/See off the guests, chief guests

Second part: Beginning of the Mahotsav
· Beginning of the main chariot procession of Goddess Vajrayogini;
· Exhibition of traditional music, dance, heritage groups in front of the procession;
· Participation by each household of Sankhu in the procession with traditional lights, traditional banners;
· Live TV broadcasting of the procession and heritage displays;
· Exhibition of traditional books, manuscripts, artifacts, cultural heritage of Sankhu and surrounding villages in various areas of Sankhu;
· Photo exhibition of the goddess Vajrayogini, her temple complex, Madhav Narayan and Swasthani pilgrimage as well as other cultural, religious, social, economic and tourism specific heritage sites (in Dhunla Tole);
· Continuous video display of cultural heritage of Sankhu (in Chalakhu tole);
· Religious hymns programme (in Ipa tole);
· Traditional Newa snacks and food stalls in different toles accompanied by similar food delicacies stalls from other communities from surrounding villages;
· Shuttle service from Thamel for foreign tourists and from new road, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur for domestic tourists;
· Exhibition by specialized organizations on agriculture, renewable energy, rural energy technology, reuse, recycle technology and employment oriented occupations suitable for peri-urban are as such as Sankhu;
