During past several years of engagement in social service sector in Sankhu, one thing I have noticed that the power of change is in the hands of youths. We have multitude of problems that the youth of Sankhu face, like difficulty in securing quality higher education, getting good employment opportunities that reward financially and career-wise, meeting the expectation of families and our societies. The contemporary society is run by networks and links and we in Sankhu very much lack this.
I think this situation can be changed and with the action of youths themselves. For this purpose, the local youths should organise events that bring together them, to discuss the common issues and get the prominent figures such as politician, development planners, artists understand the issues of Sankhu and thereby get their committment to support youths to move ahead in social, economic and political fronts.
During my recent visits to Sankhu, I have met couple of quite enthusiastic and committed youths engaged in different spheres in serving the society in Sankhu. Can the youths active in these different spheres come together and draw some joint actions?
